We decided to interview the host of our boujiee Soho Loft apartment. A favourite for Hollywood A-listers, this swanky apartment has featured in Ok, Hello, Daily Mail, Now, BBC, Sky, and a myriad of shoots for world-famous fashion brands. This converted warehouse is chic and modish with its bright colours contrasted with the brick wall feature and wacky artwork. In other words, it is the perfect combination of contemporary, Warholian, and Vorticist décor, and every piece of furniture has been hand-picked from London’s most exclusive auction houses.
Favourite interior designer/architect?
My favourite interior designer is House of Hackney. House of Hackney are a British luxury interior and lifestyle brand, and actually designed Kate Moss’s house in Hampstead Heath. The company specialises in British made goods, founded by husband and wife duo Javvy M Royle and Frieda Gormley. Take a look at their website below www.houseofhackney.com/uk/.
Favourite visual style/aesthetic?
“Minimal, contemporary, antique.” One of the most interesting things about this property’s design is the contrasting themes. The bright pinks, lighted signs and bright clashing colours are beautifully juxtaposed with the antique pieces dotted around the space. There are super modern and urban aspects put next to archaic antique objects to create the personality that this apartment exudes.
What is your ideal holiday?
“Thailand for 6 weeks.”
Favourite London hotel?
“Sanderson.” Fancy a weekend in the city? Book the Sanderson to understand the hype…it’s glorious, www.booking.com/hotel/gb/sanderson.en-gb.html
What was your aim with the Soho Loft?
“To create an eclectic, fun, luxury space with a cosy feng shui feel.” What is feng shui I hear you ask? It’s a term thrown around a LOT, and we ALL pretend to know what it means…let’s get the definition. ‘Feng shui, also known as Chinese geomancy, is a pseudoscientific traditional practice originating from ancient China, which claims to use energy forces to harmonise individuals with their surrounding environment”. Now, you may not be able to tell from the photos, but I have been in this apartment, and trust me, its feng shui.
Weird fact about yourself?
“My eyes blow up like Marty Feldman if I get anywhere near horses.” I did not know who Marty Feldman was until this interview. I googled. I was scared. Google it. You’ll be scared.
